Founded in 1880, Royal Antwerp FC carries the legacy of being Belgium’s first football club. Their ambition was clear—they wanted innovation, enhanced fan experience, and top security at their iconic Bosuil Stadium. To achieve this, they embraced an all-in-one access and payment solution. More than just a membership card: being part of a club

Weezevent offers a membership card to all fans to make the entry of their stadium complete. A tool to remind them of the simplicity and innovation their club has to offer.

It all starts at the entrance: safety & security first

As a club, getting the right people in quickly is crucial to ensuring a smooth matchday experience and maintaining fan satisfaction.

For some years, Royal Antwerp FC used one access control system but encountered several challenges along the way:

• Lack of speed: The system was too slow, leaving fans stuck outside at the moment of kick-off.
• Lack of efficiency: Some minor malfunctions during scanning caused awkward situations at the entrance.

Weezevent understands these pain points. Our goal is to make entry a certainty, not a challenge.

In collaboration with the club, Weezevent developed a custom solution. By integrating our WeezAccess software with the turnstiles, we ensured no lag between the scanning and opening. Scan – green light – enter. This reduced entry time dramatically—from 10 seconds per person to just 3 seconds. All this by using the best NFC technology on the market.

Whether it’s friends, family, rival fans, or other ticket holders, everyone will follow the same streamlined process, scanning their tickets at the same entrance with ease!

Cashless payments and cup management

Football games always bring an intense atmosphere with them. Whether the team is winning or not, grabbing a drink is always a good idea. However, football clubs often struggle with long queues at the bar. Before, during, or after the game, fans want to get their drinks and food as quickly as possible. Peak moments can be stressful for bar managers trying to manage the crowds.

At Weezevent, we see this as an opportunity to demonstrate our efficiency and speed. Our contactless payment system makes it significantly faster to get drinks, eliminating long queues altogether.

Cup Management

Managing cups is always a challenge for clubs—whether it’s cleaning up or handling logistics. Not anymore for Royal Antwerp FC. Weezevent showcased its flexibility by partnering with Aucxis to implement a system using NFC technology embedded in the bottom of the cups. This links the cups to the credit card of the buyer, allowing fans to be charged less for their drinks when they return their cups to a specialized bin.

Of course Weezevent also provides a solution for clubs with normal plastic cups. Simply having a refund stand present at the club allows us to implement terminals specialised for refunds on cashless cards.

Open Loop

With our open-loop system, payments with different sorts of credit cards are possible, offering fans’ friends and family the same seamless experience. Everyone can feel part of the club and easily get their drinks without a hassle.

Accreditation platform: crew, partners & press

When we talk about fan experience, we mean all the fans—including press, crew, partners, and sponsors. For clubs like Royal Antwerp FC, managing crew accreditation can be a real challenge, given the large number of people involved.

Ensuring that each group has the right access and guidance to optimise their experience is just as important as anything else. At Weezevent, we addressed this by integrating our solution for crew accreditation, supported by our professional printers, to provide the correct badges upon entry. Each partner is given a proper RAFC-welcome to make their connection with the club impeccable.

Our user-friendly platform allows the club to easily manage everyone entering and exiting their sacred ground, making sure the experience is smooth for all involved.
