For AC/DC’s only date in France, the concert producer turned to Weezevent to optimise the ticket sale management and effectively address the challenges associated with exceptionally high demand.

After an eight-year absence, AC/DC announced a single concert in France as part of their European tour. To anticipate an unprecedented demand, the French concert production turned to our ticketing solution to ensure a smooth, stable, and secure purchasing experience. Our expertise in managing large-scale events positioned Weezevent as the ideal partner to meet this challenge.
Technical capability as the main criterion
Before the ticket sale, the primary concern was the system’s ability to handle extremely high traffic volumes without compromising performance.
In preparation, the various ticketing configuration parameters were meticulously developed in close collaboration with the event’s production team.
Thanks to a scalable architecture and the deployment of 450 dedicated servers, Weezevent ensured an equitable distribution of tickets among the 200,000 users connected simultaneously. With up to 100 tickets sold per second, the experience remained smooth despite overwhelming demand.
Efficient demand management through a queueing system
Anticipating and managing the exceptional demand for this unique concert was a significant challenge, requiring flawless planning and coordination. By leveraging predictive analytics and a virtual queueing system, Weezevent optimised server load distribution and enhanced the purchasing experience, leading to a complete sell-out in just 50 minutes.
The queuing system allowed users to see their position in line and the estimated time before accessing the event’s ticketing. Regular updates on ticket sales were communicated to those in the queue, ensuring a reassuring and transparent process.
Security and reliability as a priority
In a high-demand sales context, securing transactions and protecting against fraud attempts are crucial for maintaining fans’ trust and the event’s reputation.
To ensure a secure and fair sale for fans, we implemented anti-bot security measures: blocking repeated requests from the same IP and requiring reCAPTCHA before accessing the sale.
A tailored solution for a historic concert
In addition to providing technical support for the ticket sale, Weezevent collaborated with the organising team to design a unique spectator experience for a concert of this scale.
To prevent fraud, we made tickets available a few days before the event through a dedicated white-label mobile app, customised with the tour’s branding. This app was downloaded by all ticket holders, allowing for widespread communication of essential information.
A system for access control and cashless payments via NFC wristbands was also implemented.
Finally, a website was created to communicate the measures put in place further.
