☀️ Hot weather, cool solutions: 3 tips for safer summer events

It’s July, and the heat is here. With temperatures rising and heatwaves becoming the norm, it’s time to step up your summer game. Whether you’re running a main stage, a food court, or a volunteer zone, here are three simple ways to protect your crew and your crowd from the heat.

    1. Keep visitors informed

Display the daily UV index and heat alerts on your event app, website, or digital screens. It helps your audience make better decisions, like applying sunscreen or seeking shade, at the right time.

Tip: Use WeezTarget to email attendees the day before the event with practical info like the weather forecast, UV index, and info on shaded zones and water points.

    2. Hydration, hydration, hydration

Ensure water is always within reach. If possible, set up several refill points and guide people with clear signage. Consider handing out reusable cups to encourage regular use. A hydrated visitor is not only happier but also safer.

Tip: If you’re handing out water bottles at every bar or stand, just add it once as a shared product in your WeezPay back office to make it automatically available at all points of sale.

    3. Look after your team

Your crew is the backbone of your event. Make sure uniforms are light, rest areas are shaded, and shifts are shorter during peak heat. A quick break and cold drink can prevent burnout and ensure your event runs smoothly.

Tip: Use WeezCrew to schedule heat-conscious shift planning: avoid long stints during the hottest hours and assign breaks in shaded zones. With clear task distribution and real-time updates, you keep your team safe, cool, and productive.

Don’t underestimate the sun: prepare now and deliver a safer experience for everyone!

    ⚡ Our latest product features

    WeezTicket

The latest feature of our ticketing solution.

Faster checkout with modern payment methods
Your ticket buyers can now pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, and more on WeezTicket. The checkout experience is now faster, smoother, and more consistent across all devices.

    WeezAccess

The latest feature of our access control solution.

Customise the scan screens based on your checklists
Working with different types of guests? You can now assign a custom screen in WeezAccess to each checklist, whether it’s for entry, wristband pairing, or confirmation. This means your staff see exactly the right info for each type of attendee.

For example: volunteers might need a t-shirt and meal token at check-in, while VIPs get fast-lane access. The screen will guide your team accordingly. It’s a simple way to ensure every guest gets the right welcome, without confusion.

    WeezPay

The latest feature of our cashless payment solution.

    Transaction identifiers on certain sales
In WeezPay, you now can easily add extra info to each sale, like a buzzer number, a lottery ticket number, or notes for a food order (e.g. “no sauce” or “well-done”). You decide what kind of info is needed depending on the situation.
The information collected can then be treated and analysed either through an Excel sales report, directly in your back office or even sent to external parties via webhooks and API.

    Recyclable NFC cards
At Bordeaux Fête le Vin, 45,000 recyclable NFC cards made from paper were used to simplify payments and cut down on waste. Fully functional and easy to recycle, they offer a smart alternative to plastic.

💡 Developed by our R&D team, this new format helps events combine smooth cashless operations with a more sustainable approach without compromising on performance or convenience.

    WeezCrew

The latest feature of our crew management solution.

Integration with WeezTicket & WeezPay: clearer visibility on your teams
Need more accurate tracking of your team members on the ground? WeezCrew now displays two key pieces of information: a direct link to each member’s WeezPay cashless profile and the exact time their wristband was paired. These details are visible directly on their profile and can also be used as filtering criteria — ideal for keeping tight control over your accreditations and on-site logistics.

🏃‍♀️ Miles ahead: running events in action

This month, we’re highlighting two success stories that show how our technology keeps even the most demanding sports events on track.

logo marathon de paris Marathon de Paris: With over 50,000 participants and a route through the heart of the capital, the Paris Marathon is a true logistical feat.
