What's a SpaceUp?
A SpaceUp is a space unconference, also known as a user-generated conference or a BarCamp. Participants will decide the topics, schedule, and structure of the event. While other unconferences have been held about technology, science, transit, and, even, cupcakes, the SpaceUp series is focused solely on space exploration. There are no spectators at SpaceUp, only participants. All attendees are expected to give a demo, present a talk (without slides), present a T-5 Talk, or participate in a panel or roundtable.
Who's coming?
The first SpaceUp in France, SpaceUp Paris, was held on 25th – 26th May 2013 at ESA (European Space Agency) Head Quarters and at the CNES Launch Directorate building. The second one was held at Cité de l’espace in Toulouse in Sept. 2014. The third one was held in November 2015, Ecole polytechnique, Palaiseau, France where we had the pleasure to host Hervé Gilibert, technical director of Airbus Safran Launchers, for our opening speech, David Iron, president and founder of Lunar Mission One, Roland Lehoucq, astrophysicist, professor at École polytechnique and science-fiction amateur and Jean-Jacques Dordain, former director general of the European Space Agency as our VIP guests.
For SpaceUp Toulouse 2017, we expect engineers, entrepreneurs and scientists, but also developers, students, graphists, journalists, from all over Europe and beyond! All passionate about space and committed to act to contribute to the promotion of space exploration by mankind. There will be VIP guests again, of course ;)
